OTHM LEVEL 6 DIPLOMA IN OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY
OBJECTIVES OF THE QUALIFICATION
The OTHM Level 6 qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety are designed to cater to individuals who currently hold, or aspire to assume, senior roles within an organization, particularly those entailing responsibilities for overseeing health and safety policies and practices.
This qualification provides learners with the opportunity to enhance their comprehension of Occupational Health and Safety management. Participants will acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to comprehend the legal and regulatory framework surrounding occupational health and safety policies, enabling them to assess existing policies and propose and implement changes as needed.
Moreover, learners will cultivate expertise relevant to the practical implementation of policies. This involves utilizing management systems, effectively managing resources, and demonstrating proficiency in risk and incident management, leadership, and skills development. The overall aim is to empower individuals with the competencies required for successful
QUALIFICATION ACCREDITATION AND REGULATION
OTHM Qualifications undergo approval and regulation by Of qual (Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation). Please refer to the Register of Regulated Qualifications for detailed information.
Furthermore, OTHM has established progression arrangements with numerous UK universities. This recognition acknowledges the proficiency of learners who have completed eligible Level 3-7 qualifications, allowing them to be considered for advanced entry into corresponding degree year/top-up and Master’s/top-up programs.
REGULATORY DETAILS
Centers are required to use the Qualification Number (QN) when registering their learners. Each unit within a qualification possesses a unique reference number (Unit code). Both the qualification title and reference numbers will be indicated on learners’ final certification documents. It is imperative to communicate this information to learners during the recruitment and registration processes.

Additionally, IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) has granted approval to the OTHM Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety qualification for accreditation. Successful completion of this diploma makes learners eligible to apply for the Graduate level of membership (Grad IOSH), subject to meeting experiential criteria.
