The characteristics of effective safety leadership at senior and board level. How organisational culture shapes safety outcomes. Leading behavioural change programmes, safety culture maturity models, and the role of the senior HSE professional in influencing executive decision-making

Advanced risk assessment methodologies including quantitative risk assessment, bow-tie analysis, and HAZOP. Strategic risk governance: integrating OSH risk into enterprise risk management frameworks. Managing safety-critical decisions at organisational level.

Unit 1: A structured self-critique of an existing safety management system within your own organisation or a specified scenario — identifying gaps, strengths, and strategic improvement priorities.

Units 2 & 3: An OSH strategic proposal and formal presentation to an IOSH assessor. Participants develop and present a comprehensive safety strategy, demonstrating integration of leadership, culture, and risk management principles.
